As with all the pieces in this series this is a musical nutcracker that plays the classic tune The Twelve Days of Christmas. This 18-inch nutcracker holds in his hand a music box with a partridge in a pear tree painted on the front. One lady spins as the music plays and the other 8 ladies dance across the back of the nutcracker’s coat. Limited to just 7500 pieces this nutcracker is the perfect addition to the 12 Days of Christmas Series.

Steinbach Nutcrackers are the most cherished nutcrackers in the world and are handed down generation after generation. The Steinbach family started making nutcrackers in 1832 by purchasing a timber yard and operating a wood sawmill which ran initially by water power and then by steam power.

"To produce one nutcracker" explains Herr Steinbach "can involve up to 130 separate procedures. At one time the curling and natural drying to the wood could take up to 3-4 years depending upon the piece."
